The Balloon is wheelchair accessible allowing guests with wheelchairs and Electric Convenience Vehicles (ECV) no larger than 25″ wide and 48.5″ long to remain in their seat during flight. Should the wheelchair or ECV exceed the prescribed dimensions, passengers will have to the option to transfer to a standard wheelchair provided by the Visitor Center, or to a folding chair placed in the Balloon’s gondola. Check the site for additional information.

Tip: Conditions for flying are generally best before 12 noon and after sunset. For more information about the Great Park Balloon and flight conditions, please call the Visitor Center at (866) 829-3829 (toll-free) or send an email.

If you love bagels, like I love bagels, then this deal will be right up your alley. I have to admit that Noah's is my favorite place for bagels. Some might say, It's just a bagel! Noah's bagels are so much more. I have never had a stale bagel from Noah's, no matter the time of day. They are fresh and flavorful and always leaving me wanting more, with just a light "schmear" of cream cheese, it's every bit as satisfying as a full meal.

With that said, you can imagine how happy I was to come across this... Noah's Bagels is offering a free bagel before 11:00 am, this Friday and next. Go here to get your coupon. My favorite is Jalapeno Cheddar and my second is an everything. Oh so yummy!!!

Well, this weekend we decided to take the kids to see the movie Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs. Frankly, we couldn't take the begging anymore, the kids had been all over this since it before it opened back on September 18th. For those who might not know, this movie is based on the popular Ron Barret children's book Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. Our children are a girl 5 and boy 6 and I was concerned if the movie might be a little much for them. But to my surprise they really got into the characters and the movie itself, they ate it up (pun intended).

Honestly, I was surprised at the plot they got going out of this--while still maintaining the basics of the book. It had an ADHD spirit with wonderfully over-the-top characters. This will probably annoy many a soul, but I thought it a winning combination for those who can put up with it all. Really, you need the heart and mind of a child for this, but if you can summon those up, you will be impressed.

We were able to see this in 3D format, which was especially fun for the kiddies since this was there first 3D. They couldn’t get over how they really thought that the meatballs were going to hit them in the face. The animation was stunning, combining a tribute to the books amazing illustrations in background with pleasantly cartoony characters. My kids especially loved the land of ice cream scene most. With the voice talents of Bill Hader, Anna Faris, and James Caan, this light-hearted comedy is well worth the watch.

So if the kiddies are still asking to see this, or even if it’s just the kid inside of you that needs to be “fed,” give this movie a whirl. I am certain you won’t be disappointed.

Sunday, October 11, 2009

I decided that Sundays would be silent. There's a good reason why it is called a day of rest, it's a time to rejuvenate and refresh for the week to come. Spend time with family and friends and enjoy some peace. God Bless.

With the holidays being less than three months away, it's time to start thinking about holiday baking. This is an offer you should keep in mind when purchasing your supplies for all those yummy confections.

You can go HERE to print the mail in form to request your free 2010 Hershey’s calendar. But wait, there's a bonus, it also includes $4 in coupons inside.

To get the calendar you’ll need to mail the rebate form with 4 UPC Symbols from Hershey’s, Reese’s, or Heath Baking Chips, Hershey’s Baking Bars or Cocoa.

I'm sure they will be some deals soon with the upcoming holidays, don't forget to save those upc's

Saturday, October 10, 2009

As a member of One to One I had an opportunity to receive the new Michael Bublé CD to review and couldn't wait to receive it in the mail. It was waiting for me at home when I arrived from work on Friday evening, and I couldn't wait to slip it in the player and sit down to enjoy it with a glass of wine. I have to say that I have been a fan of Michael Bublé for some time and really enjoy his smooth jazzy sound.

After hearing a couple of the tunes I figured it was just a full album of re-makes and began to feel a little disappointed, but that quickly changed when I reached Track #5 on the disc, Haven't Met You Yet, written by Michael along with Alan Chang and Amy Foster. This song had me tapping my foot and almost getting up from the sofa, if I hadn't been so very tired from the rough week I had just experienced. If you didn't have a chance to see him perform this on Oprah, go here and check it out.

Bonus Track #13 is my second favorite and with Michaels' smooth soulful voice it really reaches the limits on this song and brings out the fullness and richness of the lyrics. I say if you have the chance to pick this one up and enjoy Michael Bublés music or are looking for something new and different, then put this at the top of your list. Experienced on a relaxing evening or taking it for a ride with the top down, you really will enjoy this one.

1. Cry Me A River
2. All Of Me
3. Georgia On My Mind
4. Crazy Love
5. Haven't Met You Yet
6. All I Do Is Dream Of You
7. Hold On
8. Heartache Tonight
9. You're Nobody Till Somebody Loves You
10. Baby (You've Got What It Takes)
11. At This Moment
12. Stardust
13. Whatever It Takes (bonus track)

To be honest, I have never seen one of these in my area, but I am sure most of you
are familiar with Redbox, they seem to be everywhere. There is one in my local Albertsons and also one at Walmart, I have heard they are at Walgreen's, but have yet to find one at the stores I frequent. But back to Blockbuster, they have decided to do Kiosks as well.

Use Blockbuster Kiosk code DT99A, valid until October 15th, to get a free movie rental. If you happen to see one in the greater Los Angeles South Bay area drop me a line and let me know where you saw it.

Whether you want to be the first to try new products, or influence future ones, advisory panels are a great way to become involved. There are quite a few available, but here’s one you might not be aware of:

General Mills and Small Planet Foods (Muir Glen and Cascadian Farm organics) have created the Mills Advisory Panel (MAP). MAP membership is currently open to US residents age 18 and over. Panelists complete online surveys and sample products, and in doing so influence the look, taste, and experience of General Mills and Small Planet Foods products.

Membership and participation is completely free, and has a few perks too! Here’s more information:

How does MAP work?
For each study, members receive an invitation by email to participate. The panel research will be conducted on the Web. All you need to do is click on the link, or copy and paste the website address into your browser window. Then, simply follow the instructions on the screen to complete the survey. You are never obligated to participate in research.

How often can I participate?
MAP panel members will be invited to participate approximately six to twelve times per year in different types of projects, and no more than fifteen times a year. For each study, you’ll receive an invitation by E-mail to participate.

What’s in it for MAP members?
As a member of the Mills Advisory Panel, you may receive different types of compensation depending on the type of research project you participate in. For many projects, you will be awarded MAP points that can be redeemed for various prizes after you’ve accumulated a minimum number of points. For other types of projects, you may receive a free product to try or some other type of compensation. The invitation for each project will state the compensation.

If you haven't had a chance to check out EXPO TV you should give it a try. It's a site where you upload your homemade video reviews of products. The products can be any type of product, one's you already use or something new and exciting. After submitting a video you are more likely to receive products from them to test and review. You have the opportunity to earn points which you can use to purchase items. Take a look, who knows you might be the next big movie star.

Earlier this year I had an opportunity to voulnteer at a Joyce Meyer conference when she came to my city. If you have never heard of Joyce, this is an excerpt from her website:
Joyce Meyer is one of the world's leading practical Bible teachers. A New York Times bestselling author, her books have helped millions of people find hope and restoration through Jesus Christ.

Through Joyce Meyer Ministries, she teaches on hundreds of subjects, has authored over 80 books and conducts approximately 15 conferences per year. To date, more than 12 million of her books have been distributed worldwide, and in 2007 more than 3.2 million copies were sold. Joyce also has a television and radio program, Enjoying Everyday Life®, that is broadcast worldwide to a potential audience of 3 billion people.

If you have the opportunity to see her in person, I would suggest you do so. Her messages have blessed me throughout the years and I think they will do the same for you. Until October 18, 2010 she is offering a 2010 wall calendar for free.

Stop by and get yours.

Michael Buble' has a new CD Crazy Love which will be available on October 9. But you get to have a quick sneak peek at the video clip of Haven't Met You Yet. I am already "crazy in love" with this track and being a huge fan, I'm sure I won't be disappointed with the remainder of the CD. This track is a little different from what I'm used to with Michael. It's very upbeat and really makes you feel like dancing. His relaxed and playful vibe in the video really brings the whole casualness of this song out, while putting the listener in the right mindset. This song is driving in the car with your girlfriends with the top down on a weekend kind of music.

Stay tuned for my upcoming review of the entire album.
