So ladies, are you getting your New Years Eve look together for the big night?  Of course we know the right outfit can make us feel really great, when going out for a night on the town.  But something else that also makes us ladies feel good about our appearance is our makeup.  With the kick off of the New Year, I’m sure you want to make sure that your face is at its very best when you get that midnight kiss.
Well, I might have some help for you for future special nights out. I began using mineral makeup as my foundation about two years ago, and love it.  This type of product is a loose powder which you use on the face as foundation.  Some of the makers of this type of foundation have forgotten one important thing in manufacturing their product, the applicator.  How do you get that smooth flawless skin, even if you have the right product, without the proper means to apply it?  Well, I was recently presented with the opportunity to help with just this dilemma.  There is a product manufactured by élan cosmetics named, “The Original Mineral Saver” that was created by Christine M. Richardson, a retired US Army Lieutenant Colonel.

This product is available for purchase on the Mineral Saver website. The original mineral saver is available in eight different sizes that fit most major brands including, bare Escentuals, Raw Minerals, Avon, Sheer Cover, American Beauty, and Maybelline.  This product comes in a package of 4 sponges and range from $4.99 to $7.99 per pack, depending on the size.  The website also offers a compatibility chart so you can see if your makeup manufacturer is listed.

I really enjoyed having the opportunity to try this product.  As I mentioned earlier, I use mineral makeup, but mine comes with a brush attached for application.  I also have another brand that I use on occasion as a powder, over my liquid foundation.  This sponge fit the bottle and covered the holes perfectly.  The powder sifted through the sponge with ease and applied with a smooth and perfect finish, just like I like it.  Of course this is a great product, it was created by a woman who saw the need for something and filled it for herself, and the rest of us lucky ducks.
Christine and élan cosmetics are also being generous with my readers.  They have offered to five lucky readers, each a 4 pack of Original Mineral Savers.  Of course, you won’t have it in time for your New Years Eve beautifully made up face, but I’m sure you will find another reason to try this product out with your loose mineral powder.  For those of you who haven’t tried mineral powder makeup, you should give it a try.  It really does produce a smooth finish on your skin and you can find almost any brand at your local drugstore.

I absolutely love this color combination, and it gave me the chance to use some of my newer eyeshadows together. For this look, I used Amber Lights (MAC) and Gilded Bronze (L'oreal) on my lid, the darker side of my Playful HIP Duo (L'oreal) with Antiqued (MAC) and Forever Fig (Cover Girl) in my crease and outer v, and my new Trio for Greens Intense I-Color Trio with Light Interplay Technology (Almay) on my lower lash line. I also added a little bit of Mythology (MAC) to my upper crease/lower brow bone, and the lightest gold color from my Almay trio for my inner corner and brow bone highlight. I got a free brown eyeliner (Almay Intense I-Color with Light Interplay Technology in Rich Mocha), which I smudged along my upper lash line and applied to my water line, and I used a black mascara on both my top and bottom lashes with a little bit of Almay's Intense I-Color Raisin Quartz Mascara on the tips of both sets of lashes to give them a little bit of color. The combination of these colors is great for green eyes and really makes them pop, but it would play up brown eyes nicely too.I've been using Almay's Eye Base + Concealer as my primer and undereye concealer, which I love, and I used a little bit of my Gold and Bronze Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencils (NYX) for my lid base. I also used the Cottage Cheese and Milk Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencils (NYX) mixed together as my inner corner and brow bone highlight base.
