*****NOW CLOSED******
I was beginning to wonder if I would ever get the chance to sample and review the New Duraflame Stax product I had received. Living in Southern California, it’s not unusual to have 80 degree Christmases and New Years. So, I was really happy when last week the weather finally took a turn towards winter, since I really enjoy fall and winter and have never liked warm weather. I thought last week when the temperature didn’t get out of the fifties it was time to crack open my Duraflame Stax 3 pack.

This is what Duraflame has to say about their new product:

The perfect winter pairing is a cozy wood fire on a chilly evening. Yet, after a long day at work or a hectic afternoon of errands, building a fire can be an “I wish” idea. A new quick way to turn desire into reality is to use the latest innovation from Duraflame: Stax® logs, the firelog with the stacked aesthetics and crackling sounds of a wood fire. Unlike building a firewood fire, a Stax fire takes just minutes to build without the mess or splinters.

Always start your stax fire using exactly two logs (never 1 or 3), propped one on top of the other as you might set up a real wood fire in an X configuration. After about 2 hours when the flames have diminished, if you wish to prolong your fire, you may add another log (ONLY ONE). Additional logs may be added to extend the fire even longer, but never add more than ONE log per hour. Just three stax logs are enough for one evening’s fire (about 3 – 3.5 hours). Stax logs aren’t intended to be used as a single log fire. They’re specifically formulated to burn with two logs as instructed.

Duraflame also has a video available on youtube that shows you exactly how easy it is to get this item started. Take a look:

Only three Stax logs are needed for an evening’s fire compared to a 30-pound bundle of wood in a fireplace. In a fireplace, the fire logs produce approximately 50 percent less emissions than an equivalent wood fire. Stax logs are the first Duraflame firelogs designed to burn with multiple logs and are approved for use in wood stoves, fireplaces and fire pits. These come in 3 pack and 6 pack Staxs, and are available at grocery and major retailers across the country, including Target and K-Mart. A box retails for $9.99 to $19.99, depending on the bundle size.

So after getting home last week I got out my 3 pack Stax and put two in the fire place and lit the outer brown wrap. They lit very quickly and began to produce a nice size fire in about 15-20 minutes. It was such a nice feeling to have a fire burning while it was getting colder and colder outside. It made for a very cozy evening while watching tv and sipping a cup of tea. Now if I only would’ve had a good book, I probably would still be in the same spot. I recommend this product for anyone who doesn’t want to bother with firewood and kindling and such. It’s fast, easy and more eco-friendly than burning wood. And ladies, if you plan on having a nice romantic evening, you don’t have to rely on your guy to build the fire for you, since these are very girl friendly that way.

I’d like to thank Duraflame for providing me with the product to sample and review. They have also been generous to you my readers, by offering a voucher for one free Duraflame Stax log 3 pack to a lucky reader.
