I was recently given the opportunity to host a party for my daughter and her friends and their mom's introducing these adorable new Mix Pups™ from Jazwares, Inc.  The oh so cute pups are sure to be all the rage with the four to six age group. These are most definitely geared towards the girl-y girl, but all of the little one involved enjoyed being playing with them with their accessorize that accompanied this in my party pack
Currently these can be found exclusively at Toys"R"Us stores nationwide!

These collectible pups also have detachable front and back legs, designer hair style pieces and clothing that can be mixed and matched with other members of the crew. These pups allow young girls to pose their pups in twenty different mix 'n' match combination's. There is also a website: where girls can visit to further their pup-play experience. Here they can engage in interactive fun and games, whioe alos having the chance to share fun videos of their own "Best of Show" puppies.

This new collection includes sixteen individual collector puppies, including Roxy the Chihuahua, Annie the Bulldog, Lucy the Dalmatian, Chloe the White Poodle, Sophie the Silver Yorkie, Maddie the Dachshund, Sandy the Retriever, Amy the Boston Terrier, Molly the Cavalier, Daisy the White Terrier, CoCo the Chocolate Labrador, Shelby the Husky, Bailey the Beagle, Zoey the Pink Poodle, Sallie the Pink Pooch, and Susie the Gold Yorkie. They each come with a personalized dog bed with that pup's name on it. These items are also very reasonably priced, with the single pack starting at $5.99, the double pack for $9.99, accessories at $4.99, and play-sets  from $19.99 - $24.99.

My daughter and her friends loved mixing and matching this cuties and thought that it was so cool to be able to have a dog show, with the pups legs and accessories all mixed up.  It really is great how these cuties allow the girls to express their individuality.  The mom's loved the fact that these are collectibles and that when their daughters are finished playing with them they can they can place them on a shelf as part of their daughters bedroom decor.  Great idea, more to be added to the Christmas shopping list.

***I was provided with a party kit to host an in house party by Mommy Parties and Mix Pups. No other form of compensation was received. The opinions expressed are those of myself and my family and friends, they have not been influenced.

Can you believe the holidays are just around the corner? As if staying on a proper eating plan/schedule isn’t hard enough, yesterday marked the two month mark until Christmas. This of course means holiday parties, potlucks, get-togethers and constant snacking. So you probably wouldn’t think that the people at Hershey’s would be concerned with the health of its customers, but they are. Hershey has a Center for Health & Nutrition (HCHN) which is in collaboration with the American Dietetic Association, called Moderation Nation.

The moderation nation website offers a variety of new tools which include:

• Moderation Menus – Seven day meal plans, with snack ideas. You can choose each menu based on your lifestyle, such as Single, Adults with Kids and Adults with No Kids.

• Recipes and Expert Tips - Here you´ll find advice from Cheryl Forberg, a registered dietitian for NBC's The Biggest Loser and New York Times best-selling cookbook author. Along with additional recipes and tips from other experts in the industry.

• Useful Facts - Here you´ll find everything from a "portion distortion" guide - providing cues on what actual portion sizes should look like - to a grocery shopping fact sheet - to a guide on how to start and maintain a food journal.
• Balance the Meal - This cool balancer tool allows you to input your main dish and its preparation method; in return, you´ll receive ideas for complementary side dishes that round out the meal smartly.

As most of us know, it is usually our busy schedules and lifestyles that do us in when it comes to trying to stay on a proper eating plan. The people at Hershey have also taken that into consideration by providing an iPhone app as part of the Moderation nation program. The free app, Activity Break, reminds you take three ten minute “activity snacks” per day. It includes some generic style exercise tips, and also includes other activities you might not consider to be exercise. In addition to being able to schedule a reminder, the application is also capable of scheduling random times throughout the week.

And, to help you get on board the wonderful people at My BlogSpark and Hershey is offering one prize pack to one of my readers, which includes:

• Hershey’s candy

• T-shirt

• Journal

To enter, please leave a comment telling me how you plan to watch you weight during the holidays. This contest will end on 10/31/10 @ noon pst and one winner will be randomly selected from the submitted comments. the winner will be emailed and will have 48 hrs to respond.

I must admit that washing dishes is not one of my favorite things to do. I have to use extremely HOT water and can still feel the heat through my rubber gloves, so most of our dishes go into the dishwasher. But of course before going into the dishwasher they must be rinsed, or in the case of my morning oatmeal mug, pre-washed. So when I, not so recently, was given the opportunity by the good people at My Blog Spark and Procter & Gamble to try out the new Gain dishwashing liquid, I wasn’t overly excited, but decided to rise to the challenge.

I received one bottle of the Original formula to put to the test. Normally after having my morning oatmeal, I usually soak my mug and wash it out when I get home from work. This time I tried it out without the soak. I must admit that I didn’t think that the liquid would be as thick as my usual brand, but it was. My usual brand is tough on grease and has a great lather. Gain met my usual brand head to head on the lather and was just as well matched in its grease fighting properties.

If you are a deal seeker such as me; I’m sure you have seen the $1.00 off manufactures coupon for the Gain dishwashing liquid over the past few months. Several stores have also had sales in conjunction with the release of these coupons making this dishwashing liquid free. Let me just repeat that, FREE!!!! I picked up several bottles of the Lavender and Apple Mango Tango variety. The new Gain dishwashing liquid comes in four great scents:

• Original

• Apple Mango Tango

• Citrus Splash

• Lavender (makes me say sniff, sniff, hurray)
To find more information about the new Gain Dishwashing Liquids, visit, or you can “Like” Gain on Facebook and leave a comment on their wall that you came by from Desperately Seeking Deals. You can also follow Gain on Twitter to be sure you don’t miss out on the latest happenings.
The wonderful people at MyBlogSpark and Procter and Gamble provided me with three t-shirts and three $5 Wal-Mart gift cards. The Wal-Mart gift cards are already gone, but I do have two of the t-shirts still available for the first to readers to respond to this post. This offer will stay active until I have received two responses or until 10/29/10, whichever comes first.

I decided to start a new feature for Monday's and call it media Monday.  This will be the day that I feature videos, albums, T.V. shows and in general all things media related. With that said, what better way to start this new segment than with a review of KT Tunstalls new album Tiger Suit.  This is KT's third album and has a mix of upbeat dance and ballads that can fit any mood.  There are several songs  that I can see dancing to in the clubs. If I had to categorize the sound I would call it "World" music, which is something I would expect to here playing in Cost Plus World Market, or on the streets and in cafes in almost any country in the world.

You can read a little bit more about what inspired this album on KT's website.  I must admit this is the first of KT's albums I have listened to in it's entirety. Most of the songs have a real hard rock feel to them, especially Push that Knot Away.  If you would like to preview the album go here.  I'm certain that you will find something you like.  My favorite two songs are Difficulty and Uummannaq Song.  I find my self bobbing my head along with both of them with Difficulty making me want to dance around the room freely. There are a total of eleven songs on this disc which include:

1. Uummannaq Song
2. Glamour Puss
3. Push That Knot Away
4. Difficulty
5. Fade Like A Shadow
6. Lost
7. Golden Frames
8. Come On, Get In
9. (Still A) Weirdo
10. Madame Trudeaux
11. The Entertainer

If after exploring this album you find that you like KT's music, you can get updates via her facebook page or twiiter feed. In either spot she will keep you up to date on her current tour dates and any happenings with appearances and her music in general.  When you've decided to purchase the new album you can pick it up at Amazon and if you decide you would like to see her perform in person you can purchase tickets and see tour dates on her site.  All in all, great music and has a spot in my music collection.

***I received a copy of KT Tunstall's CD from One to One for review purposes and received no further compensation.  All opinions expressed are my own and have not been influenced.
