So have you heard of Carolina Pad ? This is a company which offers a variety of organization/office product items that help keep us organized, why also being stylish at the same time! I remember the first time I saw Carolina Pad products on Desperate Housewives; it’s something I fell in love with as soon as I saw them! With their unique style and functionality, they are also easy on the pocket, so you don’t feel guilty adding these to your shopping list.

There wonderfully vibrant products are especially feminine and make me feel chic when using them.  What’s even better these products can be found at most Walmart stores. You may also visit Carolina Pad  online to their full line of products.  Here is a little blurb from their site:
"Carolina Pad (www.carolinapad.com), the industry leader in fashion school, office and organizational products, is perfect for mom! Our wide variety of products provide the perfect combination of fashion, function and affordable! Plus, they are just plain cool! Our trendy, stylish products have appeared on the hottest television shows including “Glee!”, “Desperate Housewives,” the new “90210” and “Greek.”

Carolina pad is offering two packages on their website in honor of Mother's Day. Simply Chic and Eye Candy are the two that will make great gifts in a mom gift basket. The Simply Chic collection features a laptop sleeve, binder clips, push pins, paper clips, a note tote, and a flip top notebook. The Eye Candy collection features a 13-pocket expandable file, a 1-subject notebook, and personal clutch. The Simply Chic package is priced at $30 and the Eye Candy package is only $10!

I was really happy, I mean really, when Carolina Pad generously sent me both of these collections to try out and review. I was really in need of a laptop sleeve for my larger laptop.  The lovely bright yellow polka dot design makes me happy every time I look at it.  There is enough room for my 17” laptop, power cord and wireless mouse to fit and zip nicely. I also really love the binder clips, which are so pretty in black with a white scroll design, so girly.

As if the great people at Carolina Pad haven’t been generous enough, they have also offered to give one very lucky reader their own set of each of these collections.

Recently I received I Love God’s Green Earth – Devotionals for Children from Tyndale House Publishing for review. This new book was released on February 15, 2010. Although I do not have children in this age group, I enjoyed reading this book and found it to be a good accompaniment for parents trying to get their children more involved. This book addresses two concerns that might be on most parents’ agenda for rearing their children; Christian Values and Environmental Concerns. The book is primarily written for children between the ages of nine and twelve, but I think with the right approach can be shared with children as young as four.

This book was created by Michael and Caroline Carroll. The goal in them creating this book was to teach children about God’s creation and how to take care of it. This is really great especially at this time of year. The Easter season is upon us and Earth Day will also be celebrated this month. I think it would be the perfect time to introduce your child(ren) to it.

The book encompasses ninety devotionals which includes a Scripture verse, a “Connection” section to help kids apply both the biblical and environmental lessons, and a “What Can I Do?” section with a takeaway activity. This book would make a great addition to any Christian educator’s library, I can also see it being used in Sunday schools, Christian schools science class and of course your children’s very own book stash. Jokes and fun facts are also included throughout the devotion to make this book fun, informative, and interesting to readers.

My opinion is that this book is a must for all Christian parents’ home. It is geared toward the right age group and is something that can be enjoyed together as a family. I also think it’s something that might be helpful in stimulating conversation around the breakfast/dinner table and something to get your child(ren) more involved with the environment and it’s direct relation to God’s creation. It’s also great that this book is in paperback to withstand the little hands that have been working in the earth and will be turning the pages.

***I received this book from Tyndale House Publishers for review purposes. No other form of compensation was received. The opinions expressed are my own and have not been influenced.

Have you had the chance to check out Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel?  Well, if you haven’t you can pick up the box office smash hit on Blu-ray Disc/DVD Combo Pack, “Squeak-Along” double DVD, and DVD Single Disc.  These DVD’s were released March 30th from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment.  The squeakquel is a follow-up to 2007’s Alvin and the Chipmunks.  Chipmunk singing sensations Alvin, Simon and Theodore are back for an encore in this hilarious “squeakquel” packed with over an hour more of music. The Squeak-Along bonus content includes new sing-alongs such as Beyonce’s “Single Ladies,” teaches audiences how to dance like the Chipmunks with the “Shake Your Groove Thing” dance instructional video, games and more nutty fun for the whole family!

When a concert mishap lands Dave in the hospital, the Chipmunks take a break from superstardom and enroll in school to fit in with kids their age.  But they soon face some stiff competition when they meet the Chipettes — a beautiful, talented trio of chipmunks discovered by Ian, the boys’ evil ex-manager!

This film features vocal talent from franchise veterans Justin Long (He’s Just Not That Into You), Matthew Gray Gubler (500 Days of Summer) and actor-pop heartthrob Jesse McCartney (Alvin and the Chipmunks).  Newcomers Christina Applegate (“Samantha Who”), Anna Faris (The House Bunny) and Amy Poehler (“Saturday Night Live”) lend their voices to the musically talented Chipettes as Brittany, Jeanette and Eleanor, respectively.

The hit soundtrack to the Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel has reached #1 on the Billboard Top Soundtrack chart and #6 on the Billboard Top 200 Album chart.

The Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel Blu-ray/DVD Combo Pack includes a high definition Blu-ray version of the film.  The pack also includes a Digital Copy and a standard DVD, and is available for the suggested retail price of $39.99 U.S. / $49.99 Canada.

Featuring more entertainment for the whole family, the “Squeak-Along” double DVD pack features an all-new bonus disc with over an hour of added Chipmunks Sing-alongs, music videos, featurettes and much more, and will be sold for the suggested retail price of $34.98 U.S. / $45.98 Canada.

I love to bake. Not that I have the chance to do it very often. But I absolutely love it. I like being alone in the kitchen and trying out a recipe for the first time and reaping the rewards when it’s a success, or the opportunity to figure out what when wrong when it fails. It's a chance to try something different than I usually would and to also add something new to mine and my families menu.

I must admit that a lot of my earlier baking came from boxes, versus a recipe. Even when I received the accolades for the finished product, I would take complete credit for the dish. No one needed to know my friend Betty was in the kitchen helping me. The friend Betty to which I refer is Betty Crocker of course. I have tried almost every item in the line of products and happily have her cookbook in my collection.

If you are more inclined to try your hand at baking from scratch, you can check out the website BakeSweetMemories.com for recipe ideas and coupons. But we all know you need that "go to," quick dessert that we keep in the pantry, for the last minute sweet treat….

So to replenish your “Go To” pantry dessert, Betty Crocker and My BlogSpark is offering a giveaway. The prize pack includes a silicon baking pan, stainless steel mixing bowl, oven mitt, Betty Crocker mixing spoon, and a $25 Safeway family of stores (which includes Dominick´s, Tom Thumb, Randalls, Vons, and Genuardi´s), gift card.

Giveaway Rules – Each entry must include your name and email (if not in profile). A comment should be left for each entry. You must complete at least the mandatory entries to be eligible for the optional entries. This giveaway will end at 11:59 pm pst on 5/8/10. The winner will be chosen using Random.org from all valid entries and notified via email. The winner will have 48 hours to contact me before another winner is chosen. Giveaway is open to U.S. residents only. Please look for the You’ve Won email from desperatelyseekingdeals(at)yahoo(dot)com.

With the start of Spring being over two weeks old, it’s time to begin breaking out those shoes and tootsies that haven’t seen the light of day in quite some time. The wonderful folks at KIWI (remember Dad’s shoe shine kit?) was kind enough to send me one of their Spring and Summer Shoe Kits to review. My dad still has his shoe shine kit and breaks it out anytime dress shoes are involved.

This wonderful basket included seven Kiwi products and two product coupons, geared mostly towards women. I did however share the Express Shine Sponge with my Dad and he just loved it. Each of these product’s have a retail value of $5.00 or less and would be much appreciated by anyone who likes to take care of their footwear and feet.

The seven products which were included are:

• KIWI Smiling Feet: Ball-of-Foot Cushion

• KIWI Smiling Feet: Ultra Slim Gel Insoles

• KIWI Smiling Feet: In-Between-the Toe Cushions (Great for sexy spring sandals)

• KIWI Smiling Feet: Gel Heel Cushions

• KIWI Smiling Feet: Gel Heel Liners

• KIWI Fast Acting Whitener (Great for the new white tennis shoes you got for tennis)

• KIWI Express Shine Sponge

Since we’ve had some near 90 degree weather here in So. California, I’ve had an opportunity to try each of these products. I have since added a couple must haves to my shoe shopping list, which includes the In-Between-The Toe Cushions and the Ball of Foot Cushions. These products are great for any woman who loves the look of sexy high heels, but doesn’t love the pain that can sometime accompany wearing them.

KIWI products are so great that two-time champion of Dancing with the Stars, Cheryl Burke has decided to team with them as their spokesperson. I’m certain she puts these products to the test with the types of fast, twisting movement their feet have to do as part of being professional dancers. Check out their website to see all the products they offer.

So, I’m sure those of you still digging out from the snow would like to get your shoes ready for spring and summer. The wonderful people at KIWI have decided to grace one lucky person with their very own Spring/Summer shoe kit.

Have you ever had one of those days, weeks, months?  Well, I have to say I have recently.  I'm just trying to keep my head above water.  I have a few reviews/giveaways lined up for this week and hope to get a couple up for next week.  I have quite a few that I still need to work on whenever I can find a free minute. I will not be around much, if at all next week as we're moving.  I HATE MOVING!!!!! The hassle of it all, trying to make sure everything is done and has been taken care of is the pits.  All while working full time. Taxes haven't been done yet. Then, the cherry on the sundae, I was backing into a carport yesterday and went a little to far and broke the entire rear window out of my vehicle!!!! Glass has been replaced, but now the rear brake light on the glass doesn't work and the water for the rear wiper doesn't work. To make matters worst, it rained yesterday.  Can you say UGGGGGHHHH!!!!!! At least I will be on vacation next week and hope to get everything done.

It can only get better from here right?  Please, please, please say Yes!

When Phil Vischer decided to spend time focusing on his relationship with the Lord, he felt a need to move beyond his Mega Hit series Veggie Tales and become more scripture focused. Our benefit of his deep reflection is his new DVD series "What's in the Bible?" This new series will get back to his original focus, which was to lead children deeper into the Bible, by teaching them the gospel and how to live it before the world. This video series features puppets, which lots of younger children may have never experienced with almost everything being digitally animated these days. This new series is sure to bring Biblical literacy to a generation of children who are often congested by technology.

This series would be a good resource for use in a children's ministry at your church, Sunday school classes, families who are focusing on family devotions, home schooling families as part of their Bible curriculum and everyone who would like a non-intimidating way to expand their knowledge of the Bible. In the "What's in the Bible?" series you will find a strong message about sin and how it separates us from God. It is also made clear that the only way to bridge this divide is through God's plan of redemption.

Much of the reason behind Phil Vischer creating this new series stems from these amazing statistics:

• Sixty-five percent of young people stop attending and being connected to a church after high school

• Fifty percent of protestant American adults can't define the word "grace"

• Half of Americans can only name one of the four gospels

Phil Visher is passionate about educating this generation through teaching them what is in the Bible. He also wants to be certain that they not only know the Bible, but how to know the God of the Bible and how all the "stories" in the Bible tell the main story of God’s plan of redemption for the world. His answer is a 13 part DVD set that will take kids through the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. I received a copy of the first two DVD's in this set, "In the Beginning" and "Let My People Go", from Tyndale House Publishers for the purpose of this review.

Take a look at the clip here:

To get your little one(s) started on this series here are some What’s In the Bible? coloring pages.

This DVD will also be an interactive series. Phil Vischer understands that today’s world is technologically driven and has thought to make this a part of the experience. You can find What’s in the Bible? on Facebook and Twitter. There is also an interactive children’s site called JellyTelly.com which works with this series. It is for kids to learn more about the stories and characters they meet form the What’s In the Bible? DVD series. You can also stop by the website.

So, have you picked out that Easter basket for the special little someone(s) in your life? Well, if you haven’t I have what I think is a great idea. I was recently introduced to a wonderful line of all-natural bath and body products for your girls called, Livi.Lu.Lu. If you give this as part of a gift basket, you can take care of bath time and Easter in one easy package. This line of product is available for purchase at Herbn-Renewal.

I was sent the Angel Kitty Gift Set to sample. I couldn’t wait until Easter to share this, so I gave it to my ├╝ber -girly great niece to try out for me. The gift set came with a little clear purse (which she loved) along with other yummy smelling and sparkly items for her to enjoy. These included; sparkling lotion, shimmering bath gel, supple lip balm and fun nail polish. She enjoyed the nail polish most and couldn’t wait to be like her mi-mi and do her nails and toes. I have to say the kit was a huge hit and put me at the top of the list as favorite auntie.

Livi.Lu.Lu offers a wide range of bath and body products for the little Miss. Priss in your life. Although I am not a little Miss. Priss, I do have two favorites; the twinkle toes dancer dust which I think would be wonderful for a budding ballerina, and the Shoo! Monster Dust. The concept behind these products is just too stinkin cute. These wouldn’t just make wonderful Easter basket gifts, but would make for wonderful little gifts anytime throughout the year.

I suggest you stop by Herbn-Renewal and check out their offerings. The little doll in your life will love you for it.

I must admit my favorite Season is Fall/Autumn, but my second favorite is Spring. I love the idea of renewal and freshness that comes with the springtime. The rain washes everything away and all is new again. My favorite part about spring however, are all the beautiful bright flowers that you see blooming everywhere. The vibrant bright colors that grab your eye as you’re driving by or the ones your eye catches a glimpse of from across the street in your neighbor’s yard, just brings joy to my heart.

Another, great springtime find is EXPO Washable Dry Erase markers in new springtime colors. This is of course, the same wonderful brand that I reviewed last year, here. The brand has not changed, only the introduction of some new fun colors. The markers are formulated to easily wash from skin, most washable fabric and car upholstery. The markers consist of low odor, certified non-toxic ink. These bold and bright colors can be used anywhere and are sure to bring fun to the classroom, office or home.

The new spring colors are available in fine and bullet point and come in six bold colors which include pink, orange, yellow, green, purple and blue. The picture is not of the product you will be receiving. They may be used on a multitude of surfaces including whiteboards and non-porous surfaces.

The wonderful people at EXPO sent me a pack of these markers in the fine point to facilitate my review and are also offering one you a chance to win a pack of your own. Just follow the rules below for your chance to win.
