One of my favorite new shows of last years summer season was Drop Dead Diva.  I am so happy to see it coming back next week. This show airs on Lifetime Television network on Sunday nights.  It's like a long lost friend.  If you haven't heard of this show or haven't seen it, you can catch up on all season one episodes this weekend, May 30th from 10am to 11pm ET/PT on Lifetime.  You can also watch all episodes from season one on Lifetime, and if you are addicted like I am season one is out on DVD June 1st.

Here is a little background on the shows storyline, In the first season of Drop Dead Diva, beautiful-but-vapid model wannabe Deb, suddenly finds herself in front of Heaven’s gatekeeper, Fred, following a fatal car crash. Outraged by her sudden demise, she attempts to persuade Fred to return her to her shallow existence but is accidentally relegated to the body of the recently deceased Jane Bingum. An intelligent, thoughtful and plus-size attorney with a loyal assistant, Teri, Jane has always lived in the shadow of her colleagues whereas Deb has always relied on her external beauty. By a twist of fate and a bolt of divine intervention, Deb must come to terms with inhabiting Jane’s curvier frame and learn to reconcile her beauty queen ways with her brilliant, new mind.

This show was praised by critics as one of 2009’s top new series, the one-hour, comedic drama tells the story of a shallow wannabe model who dies in a sudden accident only to find her soul resurfacing in the body of a brilliant, plus-size and recently deceased attorney, Jane.  Drop Dead Diva features breakout star Brooke Elliott (Wicked, Taboo), Margaret Cho (Ghost Whisperer, Notorious C.H.O.), Jackson Hurst (The Tree of Life), Kate Levering (Cashmere Mafia), April Bowlby (Two and a Half Men), Josh Stamberg (Lie to Me) and Ben Feldman (The Perfect Man). The second season of Drop Dead Diva will feature 13 new episodes.

Once you have caught up on season one, make a note or add it to the DVR for season two premier, Sunday, June 6 on Lifetime 9pm et/pt.  If this entire season is as good as the sneak peek of season two I saw, I am on pins and needles for the  rest of the episodes. I won't give you any details, but you can catch a snipet of season two here.

Also be sure to follow the show on Facebook and on Twitter to keep up with all the latest details.  Once you watch it I think you will be hooked like I am!

I must admit the I really love water.  Most times I will reach for a bottle or glass before I reach for another type of drink.  Kids however aren't as eager to drink water as much as they should. So I was really exited when given the opportunity to review WAT-AAH. WAT-AAH! is the first 100%  sugar-free, functional beverage brand designed especially for kids.

April 1, 2010 was the launch of the WAT-AAH! brand in the Los Angeles and surrounding areas. WAT-AAH! will be available in Whole Foods, and other natural/organic markets and deli's. WAT-AAH! is ultra-pure water containing the right amount of essential minerals to fortify and maintain children's health. WAT-AAH's! mission is to reverse the established behavior and dependency on sweetened drinks among American children, thereby reducing the high rates of childhood obesity associated with sugar laden drinks children enjoy. Ultimately, WAT-AAH! aims to teach kids that healthy bodies can be obtained through healthy hydration!

According to the Centers for Disease Control, fifteen percent of children and teens are overweight, that is equal to almost 9 million children, and another nineteen percent are considered at risk for becoming overweight. This triples the statistic rates that were documented in the1980's. Currently, there isn't another water product on the market for kids and teens that can claim to be 100 percent free of artificial flavors, artificial colors, additives and sugar. This line of parent/child products include:
  • WA-TAAH! Bones, ultra pure water with magnesium to help bone growth.
  • WA-TAAH! Brain, ultra pure water with added electrolytes to encourage faster absorption, hydration and cooling down.
  • WA-TAAH! Energy, ultra pure water with oxygen for increased metabolic function and energy.
  • WA-TAAH! Bones, the foundation for the brand with simple and super clean spring water, absolutely free of sugar.

So, what does this family have to say!?! When the box arrived, we opened it and placed the bottles in the fridge, along with all the other favorite drinks enjoyed by our family. I think everyone was excited by the cute and brightly colored bottles, which really got the kids to want to try it. At first they thought it was going to taste differently than other water, but after trying it they found out that it tastes just the same.  They really liked the thought that it was providing the “little extras” for their brains and bones.  They loved the cool picture of the kid on the labels and box. So, would your family like a chance to try WAT-AAH! for themselves?

I really enjoy trying new things and when I was given the chance to review the new Silk Pure Almond Milk, I was super excited since I love cow’s milk and Silk soy milk. I could easily drink a gallon of milk every day on my own, no sharing. I did however plan to share this to get some other opinions.

You probably know the Silk brand for their yummy soy milk, which a great portion of people drink because of lactose intolerance and some even drink it for its great health properties. The Silk brand soy milk has a really great taste that is not overpowering. I figured since I really love almonds and eat them daily I would surely like Silk Pure Almond Milk. I was right!

Silk Pure Almond Milk is made from real almonds and contains no dairy or soy. Silk Almond Milk also contains no saturated fat or cholesterol and has fewer calories than cow’s milk! Another great benefit is that each eight ounce glass contains 50% of the recommended daily allowance of vitamin E, as well as having as much calcium and vitamin D as whole cow’s milk.

Each eight ounce glass of the original flavor Silk Almond Milk has only 60 calories per glass and the Vanilla variety offers 90 calories per glass. I used my coupon to try the Vanilla variety first. I found it to be very smooth and slightly sweet. It also has a very subtle flavor of almonds that do not overpower the milk flavor that you expect. I also enjoyed it with a cup of coffee in place of my normal flavored creamer and enjoyed the sweetness. The Silk website suggests cooking with it, and also offers recipes using their products. I enjoyed making the strawberry banana smoothie with my Silk Vanilla Pure Almond Milk, after adding all ingredients the almond taste was undetectable.

So, since I really enjoyed trying this great product, the wonderful people at Silk have offered to give one lucky reader of Desperately Seeking Deals the same opportunity. They will be offering one lucky reader a coupon to try either of the Silk Pure Almond products and a Silk logo chic reusable Chico shopping bag to go with.
